I was surfing the web . Popup appears. I can't close it. Forced me to number . I thought my laptop really get infected by malware. I just bought this laptop .I tried to shut down and restarted my laptop .same thing happened .
I called that number an indian accented answer . I can heard very noise many indian talked there . Not sure indian or bangla. This guy talked very rude when I asked him .He asked to follow his instruct and then asked me to pay money to remove that virus . I felt something wrong . This assholes claimed he from Microsoft and forced me to pay . Then I tirn off the phone. He called me back again the way he talk very rude maybe desperated need money .

After I refused to pay him .He deleted some of files and etc .Seem like he controlled and hacked my laptop.Lucky this is my new laptop . so nothing important .I was so angry . How he can hacked ? that in my mind . I bought this laptop from indian man shop . I thought he did this .I shut down my laptop .
Next morning I restarted the popup disappeared .And i found out this is scam . Lucky I not pay and trust him .

Who Is It Targeting: Microsoft Edge browser users
What Is It: Fake alerts that pop up, telling you that your computer has been compromised.
What Are They After: A security flaw has been found in the alert system for Microsoft’s new browser, Edge. The system is supposed to tell users anytime they’re on a site or receive a message that contains phishing attempts or malware, but the alert mechanism is vulnerable to hacking.
That means someone with the right know-how can change the message to say that your computer has been infected. Once the phony alert appears and you call the tech support number in the popup box, the scammers extort money to “fix” the problem that doesn’t exist in the first place.
How Can You Avoid It:
Never fall for a tech support scam; if you receive a phone call, email, or popup message that your computer has been infected, it’s probably not true.
Keep your antivirus software installed and up-to-date to protect you from malware like this.

For all other browsers, use the Task Manager to exit the browser. Reboot and see if the pop-up goes away.
